The match fixers have jail sentences

The match-fixers have sentences ranging from 6 months- 32 months.  Mohammad Amir has 6 months in jail, Mohammad Asif has 1 year in jail and Salman Butt had 30 months in jail. The ring leader and the player's agent, Azhar Majeed is sentenced to 32 months in jail.
The ICC reacted to media comments about match-fixing making a home in the world of cricket by saying; "It is only a tiny proportion of people, some of whom may have a pre-deposition to it and some who succumb to the evil advances of other people.
"My message to the followers of cricket is keep following, keep loving this wonderful game and don't be thinking that corruption is rampant within the game."
The judge, Mr Justice Cooke said that cricket matches will never be same again and will be forever tarnished.
The judge though said that they will be released as early as halfway through their sentences if they behaved nicely.
The 4 have been ordered to pay compensation and the Met Police have said that "It is unlikely such activity would have been exposed without the good work of investigative journalism."
This is a praise from the police to the now defunct News of the World that have uncovered the match-fixing after an undercover reporter gave hundreds of pounds to fix a game to the agent of Azhar Majeed with 3 no-balls being bowled during the August 2010 Lord's Test.
Now the careers of Pakistan's true talent have finally met their end in the prisons of England.
