The Australian squad against India for the Boxing Day Test

By Abeed Hassnat
The selection might have been hard but it came to Usman Khawaja and Phillip Hughes losing their place in the Test squad and Ben Hilfenhaus, Shaun Marsh, and the impressive and uncapped player Ed Cowan who shown an impressive performance with a century in the Tour Match between the Indians and the CA Chairman's.
Along with the strong reinforcement of Shaun Marsh to the top-order batting, Ben Hilfenhaus has earned himself as a plan to head the rather inexperienced and young fast bowling in the squad against the Indians in the MCG.

So as a result, Cowan and Marsh replace Khawaja and Hughes with Shane Watson and Ryan Harris being unable to be chosen for selection due to injury worries. Watson injured his calf muscle after the first day of batting training and Ryan Harris complained that he couldn't get himself fit to the right energy levels after playing for Brisbane Heat in last night's Big Bash League match.

Ricky Ponting and Mike Hussey are still in the squad after some poor showings in the previous Test in their loss against New Zealand but the selectors warned they had to step up if they want to stay in the squad for long.

Australian squad for the Boxing Day Test: Michael Clarke (capt), Ed Cowan, David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey, Daniel Christian, Brad Haddin, Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon
