Is the Cook under fire?

Alistair Cook is under pressure after his fourth successive defeat as England captain with a team capable of winning, especially batting!
Out of the 4 matches played in the series, Cook had his side bat first 3 times and with no success.  Both batting and bowling has been poor after playing poor shots instead of being patient and hitting bad balls. Cook always protect the individuals from criticism like defending Trott for playing and scoring too badly in the third ODI against India. Playing spin  involves patience and England didn't look really patient with the ball. Spin in England isn't good either with a lack of experience or with choosing too many pace bowlers. 3 pace bowlers were chosen at the first 3 ODIs and Dernbach was being pummelled in all of the 3 ODIs. Selection not so good. Also, with Scott Borthwick providing too many fullish balls, the selection by the selectors, the captain and the coach isn't so good.

Finally, the on-pitch fights and arguments aren't well handled by the captain as other players such as Steven Finn and Jonathan Trott are cool flannelers of the heated bunch of players. At least seeing Steven Finn apologising in behalf of Pietersen shows there are players adhering to the spirit of the game.

The point is Cook needs to regroup the team at heated moments and calm them down as well as using all the balls in the innings since there is 50 overs in ODI and not 40. Cook needs to put his head down otherwise the last chance saloon will be driving in the alley towards him.
