Mushfiqur smashes to a major upset at home

Bangladesh have won their Only Twenty20 International against the West Indies to prove that Mushfiqur Rahim is the right man for the job of captain with 41 off 26 balls with a massive 6 to finish the game for Bangladesh at a packed stadium with a capacity of 25,000 people.
Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field but West Indies chose fast bowlers compared to the very contrasting spin bowling attack Bangladesh had. Both inning looked very similar with teams crumbling early. West Indies were facing difficulty against the spin bowling of Bangladesh with Shakib al Hasan getting figures of 2-25 in 4 overs. Marlon Samuel put on 36 with Barath in which the partnership looked to threaten Bangladesh's hopes of a restricted total for the West Indies. When the partnership broke, only Samuels could do well with the bat his innings of 58. The other batsmen lower down the order couldn't even reach double figures. West Indies were restricted to 132-8 with some good bowling of Shafiul Islam who bowled varying length and paces to get figures of 2-19 in his 4 overs.

Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes were looking good with the bat in the first 3 overs of Bangladesh's innings at 24-0 until Tamim Iqbal was out by an edge from some nifty bowling from Ravi Rampaul. Kayes was cutting and hitting some fine shots until Anthony Marting struck with the ball as Hyatt received a comfortable catch from an awkward hit from Kayes. Panic started to kick when Shakib al Hasan was out for a first ball duck to Marlon Samuels then Mahmudullah straight after with a mere score of 2. Bangladesh at the 10th overs starting deperately hitting the panic button and were out of touch trying to hit the ball hard for a boundary when it is actually hit for singles and twos to rotate the strike. When Bangladesh were 93-6 with 40 runs needed from 27 balls, this looked too big to handle for Bangladesh until the new captain, Mushfiqur Rahim stepped in. He gave a captain's innings hitting 2 sixes and 1 four as well as rotating the strike with Nasir Hussain who hit a 15 ball 18 to go with Mushfiqur Rahim's 41 to provide Bangladesh with a second ever Twenty20 International win in history. Marlon Samuels impressed with the bat and ball with outstanding bowling overs of 2-14 in 4 overs but Darren Sammy may have used the best option too early by bowling Ravi Rampaul. Rampaul allowed only 2 runs from the first 4 balls with Bangladesh needing only 4 from 2 balls but when Mushfiqur Rahim came up to the crease, hit smashed a massive six to the stands to leave the crowd and himself roaring with celebration.
