The Test Updates

Bangladesh looked to have had a bad day for themselves after they ended the day 204-7 although they were pleased to have bowled West Indies out for 355.

Bangladesh 204 for 7 (Shakib 73, Naeem 45, Nasir 33*, Fidel Edwards 5-58) trail West Indies 355 (Kirk Edwards 121, Powell 72, Shakib 5-63) by 151 runs
West Indies took control of the 2nd day by taking key wickets during the day from Bangladesh's innings thanks to the Edwards of the bat and ball.
West Indies were finished of by Bangladesh but Kirk Edwards got the West Indies to a reasonable score with his 121. But Shakib led them to the clean up of West Inides after they lost 5 wickets for just 102 runs since the end of play in day 1. Shakib al Hasan had figures of 5-63 and would later help in Bangladesh in recovering and avoiding a possible follow-on.

After being bowled out for 355, the Windies searched for a good start to get the dice rolling. Key batsman, Tamim Iqbal was part of Fidel Edwards's 5 victims after he took his 5 wicket haul in the Test. Nafees, Raqibul Hasan and the captain, Mushfiqur Rahim would soon follow as they struggled with the pace of the pitch and all falling to Edwards. Edwards had got the specialist batsmen out in what was turning out to be a one man show after Bangladesh were knocked 86/5 at tea. Shakib al Hasan came into the picture with his 72 to recover Bangladesh and soon got them past the follow-on score. Helped by Naeem Islam by his 45 and Nasir Hussain's 42, the 3 played patiently and showed an example paying in such a tricky pitch. So Bangladesh have got to 203/7 with a job to close down the gap before West Indies bat again but how much could they take it up to...?
