India v England 1st ODI

India have had a confidence knock after a winless tour of England. Maybe one of the independence battles would get them motivated for another series but in the home of 1st choice sport of cricket, India. For England, this would be an opportunity to show that they can play well in conditions away from home and put added pressure for India in their forthcoming series against Australia next.

India won't find it easy with the big names of Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel being injured. Harbhajan Singh's shock drop from the team will probably be regretted after Singh's brilliant spell of 3-21 in the CLT20 final to get him his win for the Mumbai side.

England haven't had a good record in the sub-continent with an early exit in the World Cup with a 10 wicket spanking by Sri Lanka. They have only won 1 game in India against India in their last 13 games. This may show that India may have the upper hand in history but preventing the all round domination would be Sri Lanka who whipped England earlier this year with England having No 1 test spot and Twenty20 Champions title up their sleeve. The only major threat England have is the advantage of having the brilliant experience of Eoin Morgan playing in the sub continent surface in the Indian Premier League and having an excellent record in the sub continent.

With all this, will England show the real threat they are able to do in conditions outside home to show nations around the world what to expect from them?

Probable Squads
