Mitchell Johnson considers foot surgery

Mitchell Johnson is considering foot surgery after a toe injury and may rule himself out for the whole of the Australia home season.
Mitchell Johnson, the Australia fast bowler,  might have surgery in his big left toe which could rule himself out for the rest of the Australia home season.
There were scans done on him and shown a piece of metal embedded on his big left toe and there has been uncertainty on to how long it had been there for.

He first hurt his toe in the last Test against South Africa in Johannesburg and had to contend with the pain and swelling it had created. He has ruled himself out for the New Zealand Test series in which the first Test starts on 1st December. If he goes ahead with the operation, he could miss the home series against India.

At the moment, Australia have lost 4 of their key players due to injury:
  • Pat Cummins - Bruised heel
  • Shane Watson - Hamstring strain
  • Shaun Marsh - Back ailment
  • Ryan Harris - Back problem
