Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians are playing to be the club world champions of Twenty20 and get their hands on the Nokia Champions League Twenty20 trophy. It's an all IPL team final!
These teams wouldn't have been fancied to be finalists but their ability to create terrific cricket matches in the last 16 days is probably the reason why. Chris Gayle has been practising his monstrous hitting with the win against New South Wales on Friday. Lasith Malinga has hit with 4 wickets to his name with the win against Somerset that has been instrumental in the lead up to the final.
The bowling unit has been week for Royal Challngers Bangalore as some bowlers like Sreenath Aravind have been knocked out of confidence with big economic figures in recent games. It would be fair to say that Chris Gayle would give big steps others to win the match like Virat Kohli's 84 against NSW if chasing a total and when he is out but you can't rule out the others in a team when lots say RCB is a one man team.
For Mumbai however, that is a different story. Being allowed an overseas players and hitting the headlines for having lots of star players in the sidelines and being part of a long list in injuries, they have given momentum to the Mumbai youngsters and that being shown by some big hitting by Sarul Kanwar as well as Yadav.
Mumbai have won 2 games in Chennai while Bangalore have never won in Chennai despite having 8 outings in the pitch during the whole of IPL history.
